Sea Shells
We held sea shells
To our ears
And sat for hours
Nestled in the warm sun
Watching the ocean
These days
The sea is far, far away
And only your memory
Walks the sandy beaches
But in the old park
So very far from the shore
I sometimes sit
Listening
To those shells
While
Every so often
Amidst the sound
Of the waves rolling in
I could almost swear
It’s your voice I hear
Calling my name
