Rain Finally Came

As the sky opened up to let the rain fall, nature shouted for joy as the earth was so happy it cried out to the clouds and thanked them for the cool drops that fell from the sky, for today was a time to be joyful, for it may be a while before the rain falls again. Written 6-30-11

James, on the doppelganger thing, couldn't you get my meaning from context? hahaha. It's one of the contests here at Soup to write on doppelgangers (LOOK a LIKES). HAve you ever seen Jay Leno show where he goes out to a mall or something and looks at people who resemble famous people, but usually in a bad way, and he calls it something like "Clones gone wrong" It's pretty funny!! The doppelganger that was most striking was the one that looked exactly like my 5 year old daughter!

I agree. We need the rain as much as the sun. Nothing grows without both and too much or not enough of either kills. Great job here. God Bless, JB

Lovely write, James. Yes, it really does seem like all the flowers, plants and trees should be cheering when it finally rains, doesn't it?

Yes, we should all be grateful for the rain--we need it as much as we need the sun. Nicely expressed poem.

I enjoyed your poem. It is truly beautiful. Thank you for your comments on my poem. The reason I wrote this poem was because I watched my mother slip away as I held her hand. We were very very close. She had cancer. I was so profoundly touched by her courage and strength and her love for her family I felt these words if that makes sense. Thank you again.
