Priceless

In the dim glow Of the candle She could see his face The shadow of a smile Feel the warmth of his embrace He held her close The music set the mood She drank in his scent Her emotions she could not subdue His whispers so sweet Dripped like sweet tastes of wine The brush of his lips On her neck were sublime They loved through the night As if it were their first But this love had lasted fifty years As unquenchable as a desert thirst In her eyes he still saw The love of his youth He still called her his girl She still felt pursued At night when they slept He still held her hand Her heart would never belong To any other man

A great write on how this kind of love still exists....I don't see it with guys and gals my age too often...but I'll see an old couple holding hands and smiling as they talk. I want that!

The institution of marriage is certainly not what it was... prenups and quickie divorces are far too prevalent. BFRAVO to those who remain together with love and devotion. An excellent and most inspirational piece Laurie! Best wishes, Keith

Those who find this...are the luckiest people on earth. Love can last a lifetime...such a love poem...and it means so much more than yearnings of younger love...love takes years to ripen into something this wonderful. ~ Carrie
