Only You

I hold on to her final words, her voice faint and sweet….
To never forget for when she leaves me.

She lives in my heart, a cloak for my soul.
Offers me peace when I am sore.
I linger in time, I pause and rewind…
to smell her sweet garden, etch her weary face in my mind.

Her brain is an anchor weighted by a past, ghosts and demons, fears slow to pass.

The anger retreats at the sound of my words,
worries fall dead when they meet at my door.
I watch bitterly, as she is taken for.
Wonder if they only knew-the love they forego.

I foresee what must, and that which mustn’t.
I cry. I worry, but I shall never regret.

I loved completely, truth be told.
I share with her forevermore.
