On The Death of A Friend

With these words in my humble verse,
I bid you farewell in your lonely hearse.
So soon you chose this life to depart,
Left many a wound upon many a heart.
Of this cruel world, take no heed
You, in this, your hour of need
For what is death, but an eternal sleep?
It will comfort all those who weep.
Death is a journey, not an end
He is a foe and he is a friend.
Ah, Irony! Will pain not end?
Will the ache in my heart never mend?
Will my soul ever be complete?
Will my wounds ever truly heal?
Will my pain ever subside?
Or will death take me come high tide?
For you my friend, I grieve and mourn,
Your passing on a bright, bleak morn..
But if I may, to you make a vow..
Before I, too take my final bow…

I'm sorry for your loss Darim. I too know what it's like to lose a friend. You've expressed your sorrow very well.
