You packed up your bags Walked out of my life Got a one way ticket There’s no return There’s no return Stark cold empty sheets Lie where you once slept Tears soak my pillow My love you spurn My love you spurn All those empty promises Guess it’s finally dawned You don’t need me in your life I guess I’ll learn I guess I’ll learn Thought we were forever Oh how wrong could I be Now I know your plans Didn’t include me Didn’t include me Friends tell me you’re happy now I’m gonna get on with my life Yes, I’m picking up the pieces My tears still burn My tears still burn Guess time will heal this heartache My grey skies will turn blue For now all I can think of is ... How much I miss you How much I miss you 24th August 2015

So sad with such touching emotion, this is beautifully written Jan and really highlights the range and depth of your talent. The feelings of abandonment is superbly expressed especially with the short lines (stanzas?! :-)). And the layout is gorgeous. blessings, lynn

Goodbye is always sad, but when doors close, doors open. Time is the great healer the more love, the more time needed to heal. I enjoy reading your poem. Looking forward to the next one...

I have NO idea where it came from - I also posted the Bronte Return poem today but this is the exact opposite - I wrote it in the early hours - my son read it and asked me if there was something I was trying to tell him - total fiction but I have to go with the flow of my muse and shes acting like a stroopy teenager at the moment - tempremental lol :-) hugs jan xx

This use of repetition is successful in this application and sets the mood for this poem, as one of melancholy sadness. Well done.

Sure is fictional Richard - I never know where my muse will take me... my son read this over my shoulder and said 'mum is there something I should know' The interesting thing is I have just posted a poem on mine and Darren Waston's Jadazzle united page 'Bronte Return - Part 5' pure co-incidence in the titles!:-) hugs Jan xx
