True, but if it interferes with "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind" we become diminished in the process, for we are not experiencing our purpose in it's fullness. Thankfully our God Loves us beyond our capacity to fully love Him.

Well, my friend, certainly it is not the forum to discuss such issues in depth! My second reply was an effort from my part to ease your admission of yourself as a " Glory seeker" that I, obviously, as the poem indicates, am against it, especially in the cases when these men hurt good and honest and God loving people! So there is no need to lecture the lecturer. The lecturer did write this humble poem as a message, a little message, as a whisper of Love for "God is Love" and any whisper of love comes from God and does the work of God so doesn't interfere with your quotation of Matthew who adds after that " Love your neighbor as you love yourself"

I agree Demetrios, unfortunately there are many time I am to busy serving my own glory, so I diminish my own humanity.

Seeking one's glory within the moral frame, i.e. of not hurting anyone else, is acceptable to a great degree, I think!
