Newspaper Story

Something terrible is going on in a distant part of the world Open your eyes this morning see what your fellow beings are experiencing Natural disasters - terrible earthquakes and floods put one's own problems into perspective Unemployment may be up - you may be broke You can take comfort in the fact that your house is not flooded and that the power lines are operating well in your area We ride on our small boats toward a safe haven headlines don't tell the full story of billions of individuals on our blue earth Living day to day and wondering if there is a G-d who will lead them home

I can only think all has been already said of this in the Bible Matthew,,though it is hard to fathom [ does not make this any less true..) But then how do peoples plan wars against one another; as all this is going on..? that's a whole n'other angle...!

Unfortunately, it often takes catastrophes to see true humanity being displayed. But I'm feeling you here though, because I always feel lucky even with the problems I'm facing. I'm always aware there are people in worse situations than I am. Thanks for sharing your heart, Matthew, and thank you for your kind comments on my poems. Love, Caroline.

Very thought provoking piece, my friend. To answer your question, I changed it slightly - the full story is that an old neighbour and her husband were returning home in the evening (summer of '76) and saw the hooded faceless monk hovering, accompanied by a small white dog - her husband died a month to the day later.
