Mystic Road

In the mist a young boy cried
From down the mystic forest road.
He shared truths his years belied.

I crept close to find that I’d
Never seen this strange abode.
In the mist a young boy cried.

From the road I stepped to hide
Fearful what this might forebode.
He shared truths his years belied.

I whispered low and he replied,
“As your past it’s truth I owe”.
In the mist a young boy cried.

He stepped forward to confide,
“It’s from true love that rich life flows”.
He shared truths his years belied.

For a moment we were side by side,
But then to yesterday he strode.
In the mist a young boy cried
He shared truths his years belied.

I'll tell you what, Craig; these are some outstanding rhymes! It also flows very smoothly, which I believe many people have difficulty doing with this form. Well deserving of the first prize.

Makes me think of Nate King Coles song about the enchanted boy. Congratulations on your win although when I read it I was not aware you had entered it in a contest. Soup mail
