My Little Girl

My Little Girl by Amy Swanson (c) July 2007 I may not ever do great things, or change the world at all - but there is someone in whose eyes I know I stand quite tall. She brings each problem, each concern, and trusts in me to find the answer that will soothe her heart and bring her peace of mind. A band-aid, or a hug, or smile, is all she ever asks - I find life’s greatest joys in these humbling, gentle tasks. When there are days that I feel sad, betrayed by all the world, I look at her and my heart smiles - my precious little girl.

They do grow so fast and sometimes you wish they were small again, even the days when they can frazzle you. This is a beautiful poem and wonderful tribute to your daughter. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Love Robin

Enjoy each and every moment, Amy. They grow so fast. I had 2 teenage boys when my twins were born.(Boy and Girl). My wife had 3 brothers, I had four so my daughter (now 25) has been pretty much spoiled and I'd spoil her again in an instant. This poem was special but not as special as the little girl it was written about. Beautiful write. Your poem has "loving mother" written all through it. Vince
