my friend

there were times when i felt alone
so long ago and so out grown
there were those times when i thought
i had nothing to give
no where to go no where to live
then i found you poet friend
reaching for me with outstreached hand
you shared your talent and i shared mine
making each other laugh and cry
i'll always be yours you'll always be mine
forever immortal in pages of time
always present with each line
my friend my poet my pall of mine

Nice tribute to poets out there. Keep the creative pen flowing. I can not imagine an inner city child or a child anywhere that has not seen a creek or brook or river at least by means of tv. Sara

John I think this your best! You can feel every word was written from the heart. I don't know who this was written for but that person should be truly honored to call you friend. God Bless. Ron
