For me looks never have and never will take precedence over a poet's writing. I comment to a good number of poets who don't bother to post a pic. That said, your welcoming smile is a sure winner, Eileen. :)

There's lot of famous writers that affected many, that weren't exactly the "most appealing to the eye"... just look at Edgar Allan Poe. This reminds me of a restaurant I used to go that got shut down. The few that ate there LOVED it, but no one was very enthusiastic about trying something new because the outside of the building looked very drab. You gotta give people a chance. Some have beautiful bodies but are ugly inside. Some have so much to say, but no one listens because of their looks...

I think that about people all the time, if I could see their face , I could tell if they were lieing;} Concrete Angel, I was thinking of Shriners children hospital ;}

interesting thought. i do like seeing other poets' faces, but it won't affect whether or not i read their work...

Peronally I would read her work, if I liked it I would read more, her looks would not influence me at all. Never judge a book by its cover, point here really, is she a good writer

Oh....I thought it was clear. I meant here on the SOUP! Avatars are always very appealing. I wrote a poem on that, remember? I just introduced my student who has entered the site and she is knock out beautiful. She won our unis beauty pageant. I put her pic up on my album on FB cause I now more people will read her if they see her face. Sad...but true!
