Author's Notes: "Moments in God's Cosmic Time," is a Couplet I wrote in an allegorical sense to present certain moments whereby we can seek to understand, if anything, the spiritual complexity of the concept of time when it is discussed in relation to God's all-inclusive presence and role as the Master of the Universe. I was inspired to write this couplet from several discussions I had over time with my wife, Ingrid, concerning Mankind's place within the cosmic continuum of the Universe. We also considered the nature of the subliminal messages that God shares with us, at times, deep within our subconscious being. I added the touch concerning Einstein's famous signature equation in his "Theory of Relativity" to present the foundation of how "Time" is understood today as a constant and continuous nature for us to understand. With all of this said, I invite you to read "Moments in God's Cosmic Time." Enjoy the thought-picture portrayed in this particular poem!! (Gary Bateman - December 12, 2015) (Couplet)

Moments in God’s Cosmic Time A fleeting, finite time space one now may define; A flash of seconds for poets to see and find rhyme. Fashioning a human understanding of God’s Time, Gives us a hint continuant, complex too—yet Divine! Einstein’s E = mc2 gives us all a most gifted treasure, With “c” as light’s constant nature for us to measure. These moments can concatenate continuously as one, Or may be revealed in time by mere eye-blinks for fun. By teasing our thoughts, God infuses our spirits now bold, With life’s knowledge over time, worth more than all gold! Being of God’s self-image defines who we each are in life; It’s for each of us to master our destiny before earthly strife. Teasing our thoughts with heavenly images of eidetic clarity, God speaks to us all subliminally over time—never as a rarity! God's the only true divine mystic when it comes to Cosmic Time, And the master for setting the Universe in perfect Cosmic Rhyme! Some say "God" is science and "God" is said to have a soft touch to all poets and artists after all we are all in "God's" self image brought together with "Time and Rhyme" - "Science" and "God" - Looking forward to reading all your other works "Gary" and may I say the intro of information that lies behind the reasons of what you then go on to write - Brilliant - Glad to have found you - Regards indiana x x x

Very cool and insightful poem, Gary. I see you love science-themed poetry like I do. As a matter of personal bio info ... when I was a kid, I wanted to be a scientist for the longest time of my youth. This poem is a rare fave. A jewel of a poem, my friend. Love and eternal joy.

Freddie, Thanks very much for your perceptive and very kind comments here. Although I've taken my number of high school and college science and math courses, I'm not a scientist by any stripe or designation. However, I've kept a curious interest over the years on a number of the broad science and math themes I learned when I was younger. (They have found their way into my poetry, at times, for sure!!) Best Always, Gary

Hello Rajat!! Thanks for your lovely note here my friend. Ingrid and I both enjoyed this particular poem very much. I haven't heard from you in a while. I've been away myself from Poetry Soup since the end of December 2015. I plan to return to "PS" by 15 April. I've been away working on prose writes and a Novella I wrote for my second book planned for next year. I will always be writing poetry, of course, but I've also branched out into short stories and flash fiction. The Novella I've just completed may be expanded later into a Novel. (Time will tell!!) Best Wishes to you and your family from Ingrid and me!! Gary

Thanks Laura. Happy New Year to you!! I really appreciate your read here and your comments. The poem encompassed a theme that I had been wanting to write about for quite some time. (NOTE: I won't be posting to "PS" for at least the next two months or so, as I'm working various prose writes for my second book and doing research on a novel I'm planning to write later. I will be back on-line eventually. I can be reached at my Soup Mail address or regular e-mail address.) Best Wishes Always, Gary

Ich bedanke sehr Herr Professor!! Frohe Weihnachten auch von ich und meine Frau Ingrid!! I'm very pleased you liked this one Demetrios!! (This is a thinking person's poem -- the type of which is normally not very popular with the mass Poetry Soup publicum. But I like it, my wife likes it, and the others listed below to include yourself -- and so, what more can I ask for??) This one will, of course, appear in my next planned book. Also, as of last week, I've stopped posting to Poetry Soup at least for the next 6 to 8 weeks or so, so I can concentrate on my short story prose writes for Book number two. I should be back fully on-line by mid or late February. (I can be reached at my private e-mail address or Soup Mail.) I will catch up later on your poetry on my return My Dear Friend!! Best Christmas and New Year's Wishes from Ingrid and me!! Gary

Thanks Armand!! And thanks so much for the FAV too!! Most Appreciated!! (Einstein's E=mc2 has, of course, many deeper layers of meaning beyond the comprehension of most people, including me, but at least I was able to pontificate a bit on the "c" variable giving me my link to draw the Almighty into the picture here with this write.) Cheers and Best -- and Merry Christmas!! Gary

- I "see" your thought behind these lines, dear Gary - We humans must always interpret or find a confirmation of "the difficult" questions of life - No human completely understands - (Gives us a hint continuant, complex too-yet Divine!) - A great and first class poem with perfect (Cosmic) rhyming - (tr + ... more worth than all gold:) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Hello Dear Anne-Lise, I thought you might like this one. (As I mentioned to Cheri above, this is one that I'd been wanting to write for some time. Finally, the words came to me just as you see them in the poem.) Appreciate the "TR" -- and to have one with "... more worth than all gold," is quite pleasing for sure. Cheers and Best -- and Merry Christmas!! Gary
