Mending Dysfuntion

A labyrinth….an internal tangle
A skein of glass prisms
                                (dark reflections)
A complex web…intricate and divided
inside a muscle thought too fragile
to withstand the breakage

Beneath…always what lay there
was tattered coils
                          (rusted raw)

Starkness overwhelms the blue light
and the tender is a bit shattered
Yet surviving with the indomitable will
                   of a thousand
Iron strength and steel resolve
is what will govern the web
A quick shot of whiskey burns
and vodka strikes the throat
 in torpid moments
(seeking solutions)
a bit of mangle and sorrow

Beyond the surface of what seems to be
is the actuality of the puzzle
                                      (pieces of truth)

Rage against the torpedo
The twists of time ticking timeless
(stealing missed moments)
Find the reason….
(illumination with clarity)
and let the wind catch your sails
                                       setting you free…..
Released from the chains of ignorance
and no longer held prisoner
by the hands that ripped your soul

Freedom is letting go of a smoke mirage
and embracing the cold concrete

....well, today I have beheld, both the profound of "Your Heart;" within hurt, strength, love and hope....always portrayed and painted within the endless beauties of Your amazing talent and words!!!!~Thus I shall bow to You once more~with a wish and a hope, that "All of Your Heart & Souls Dreams May Forever Come True!!!!"~"My Love Always To 'You & Your Little Angel Brianna,' Forever, John!!!!"~"Have A Beautiful Day Christie!!!!"~Bye Dear:):)

....yet we live within a world, which calls for a more serious and grounded few also....and Your ending verse seems to have painted You there!!!!~But, I do believe that there is much more to this write than just these things!!? Perhaps, a feeling of being let down or discouraged by another? Which in turn, I would sincerely hope not!? Yet if so, then I would most surely hope that they somehow see the error of their ways; in regards to "Your Priceless Heart!!!!"....cont....

....personally, this is where I have always liked to remain myself~upon the solid and unwavering foundations of strength and reality!!!!~For to float through the air so to speak, of child like innocence and dreams, is wonderful to a point....cont....

Now this is a much more profound, somber yet hope-filled write~ A soul-searching bound with the strength and resolve of which You have attained through time!!!....Being able it seems, to differentiate the illusions, mirages and pretenses, from the realities of everyday and everything which daily surrounds Your life!? And to embrace the possible concrete facts, of which emerge from it all!?....cont....

I have to agree with Robin, Christie... powerful writing.... in your own inimitable style as always..... great title... and something undertone... raw and even hard ... uncompromising.... till you are hit with the last two lines; and you realise, what you wished was beneath the surface.. is in fact on the surface........ great writing Christie

This is a power piece, Christie, espcially those last three stanzas. So many excellent phrases, too many to list, that pop as I read this and your visuals are great. Wonderful poetry! Love, Robin

Really awesome Christie, and I found those last two lines to be really powerful. Yes... there is a freedom in letting go of our mirages and embracing our concrete realities, I love how you penned this. :) Enjoy the sunshine my kindred friend! Love, your liony friend with the shell in her backpack. :)

I love the last two lines, I am still reflecting on this one. You always have great insight in your poetry..."by the hands that ripped your soul" powerful imagery. Thankfully souls can be mended : ) -Jason

I especially love your ending lines, referring to a strong reality, rather than the myth of constant rainbows and sunshine. You stay strong, you are on the well lit path. Love, Shar

Wow, Christie....the painful and powerful words that pours out of this poem...from someone so young and beautiful, it makes my heart sad if ever you have felt so ripped apart as this speaks. To be in such a dark place...a true survivor one must be, to come back from the shadows into the light. You have a tremedous gift to write, and move the reader. ~ love, Carrie

Christie - I know these pains of which you write - A huge part of my recovery is the fact that my son and my youngest daughter will never know of these things because my wife and I have broken the cycle - They will never have to see the cold hard drug induced violent man that I once was - Christie this is a wonderful poem that touched me very deeply in fact I'm putting in my favorites list - YF4L, God Bless, MJ
