Maid of the Myst I lie in repose Under the falls In a tranquil pool Of turquoise blue He left me for another This I could not suffer My pain already drowning me I fell from the falls Spectacular was the news Young girl with the blues Dives to her cherished death My lover left me for I was on meth I was confused and skin so bruised Misused and tears seeped from my veins No one at all could know this enduring pain So now under the falls I enjoy the rain My soul lies deep Under waters so very steep I wait, and I wait To be alive again From the skies Not another… but I see a phone that dives Floating downwards upon my weary breast A chance you see, finally I was blessed I call from the depths below Like a spirit I begin to glow Daddy daddy is that you? From below I call to say a proper adieu Found inside her pocket I miss you daddy I love you so much Forgive my wild youth Remember me as I was in your arms Long ago with my pony tails Your little cuddly pumpkin Love you daddy

Your poem brought tears to my eyes, Arthur. I have a photo from the Maid of the Mist when I was five. Dad took it. How I wish every person could be spared the devastation drugs like meth can do to our lives. I wish I could send the last verse to my father in heaven. This type of love never dies. Beautiful. A fave.

You have sketched a very heart-wrenching tale of tragedy of daughter and father love and affections in brilliantly composed lines dear friend Arthur. Daughters always cry for the love and protection of their father and in your poem you have obtained that wonderfully. Thank you once again for your kind visit to my recent poem. A full 7+ for this lovely write. Love and best wishes always...Ravindra K Kapoor

this was a very interesting tale of tragedy, Arthur. Inside all women is that little girl needing her daddy's protection. I enjoyed this.

I had a client who jumped naked from the falls over 25 years ago. She was a lovely young woman. It was a tragic event for so many. This is well expressed Arthur. Take care my friend.

Thank you Richard, this was actually inspired by Tim Smith, in chat he was explaining how he dropped his phone over the falls, and I turned it into a poem! :)

Unfortunately scenes like this are repeated throughout space and time however not poetically as here presented. Tragic but well written dear, Arthur!

Arthur...this is so heartbreaking. What one must endure to reach this point of no return....I've been there. I'm glad I'm still here. Thanks for making us aware again of how fragile we really are.

This brought tears to my eyes..because it reflects a reality of some .Its sad when they get trapped in a non way out kind of lost love ..or of despair in life..To not make it to theirparents arms and choose...to end it all..How sad..Awesome moving post.

I absolutely love this poem Arthur. Submersed in sadness but still is able to show her love for her father.
