Lucy

from my new poem book called Picnic by jimmy boom semtex. varied work. Lucy Lucy was my mum's rescue cat from the shelter. She was company for us, including my mum. My mum loved cats and dogs, as did we. Her previous cat, Katy, died. And my mum was sad for weeks. There was only one solution. Get a new cat! Not a replacement. No, Lucy was Lucy. With a quiet meow, she liked to eat cheese. Just like Becky the poodle did. Lucy was both black and brown and very cute. She liked to sit on my shoulder and tickle my ear. Now that's she's gone, we all miss her. We thought she was fine. She defeated the first cancer attack and had many happy months. Then it came back and it was the end. One day Lucy, we'll meet again on the other side.
