Love went to the liquor store She bought a bottle Drank until the bottle was dry Walked on over to the hardware store Where there she bought a hunting knife Love sliced open my chest Her hands grasped my heart She had a hearty meal Dropping her knife She walked away in the dark Love stole my heart

What a horrendous story! Difficult to imagine so much cruelty harbored in the heart of a normal woman! Great poem though, profound and dynamic, Certainly a seven dear Arthur!

Arthur, just read love, and it really touched me, as I am in recovery from alcohol for 30 years. The poem reached me at, perhaps, a different level than what you intended. I drank enough years to have a lot of my heart cut away, but have 30 years sober now. A great gathering of words. Thanks, Brian
