Let Me Fly

gust
of wind
lifted my low
cold spirits high;
an encouraging word
that halted a downward
steep glide into depression
when swiftly dark clouds
were gathering across
the sky, erasing hope.
Like soothing balm
on a deep wound
healing the pain
of my bleeding
lonely heart
