Last Leaf On a Tree

(The poem is based on The Short Story of O Henry " The Last Leaf". I was reminded of it while I saw a last leaf in the winter of 2011 while living at Concord, NC) One leaf left on tree Not a sound of the sadness Neither the despair One leaf left on tree No undue unhappiness Neither any pain. One leaf left on tree All by itself in the air Feels no forlornness. One leaf left on tree It spends itself in swaying Breathing in the breeze. Last leaf not the end When tumbles down as time comes Hundreds of buds sprout. +++ January 22, 2015 Form: Haiku

I enjoyed your Haiku. I invite you to read my Haiku and other forms of poetry. I only joined this month, and yet have written 91 poems of outstanding quality and originality. I am already on the FAV list of four people, including John Fleming. One of my poems, "Less Deceived", was on the Home Page for week ending 22nd February.

Dr. Ram, the repetition of a line; powerful in itself. the flow is wonderful. your idea with a single leaf, brilliant. I love this poem for all that it conveys. I am a leaf, not the least lonely, nor of insignificance. bless you.

This poem is plagiarized! The true writer of this poem is David Ignatow and the poem is One Leaf. He deserves credit for his work. Dr. Ram is a phony. He has a habit of plagiarizing, I have sadly come to find out.
