Last Leaf On a Tree

(The poem is based on The Short Story of O Henry " The Last Leaf". I was reminded of it while I saw a last leaf in the winter of 2011 while living at Concord, NC) One leaf left on tree Not a sound of the sadness Neither the despair One leaf left on tree No undue unhappiness Neither any pain. One leaf left on tree All by itself in the air Feels no forlornness. One leaf left on tree It spends itself in swaying Breathing in the breeze. Dr. Ram, the repetition of a line; powerful in itself. the flow is wonderful. your idea with a single leaf, brilliant. I love this poem for all that it conveys. I am a leaf, not the least lonely, nor of insignificance. bless you.
