Kawaii

watching anime, she feigns a high scream of glee, seeing where a mushroom cloud should be. . . . a flower rises *Kawaii means “Cute.” Japan has become the culture of “cuteness” and “Kawaii” is often uttered, especially by young girls, on seeing anything they deem adorable or pretty. It is seen in anime - the Japanese cartoons - and in mascots such as Hello Kitty and focuses on “otaku” which is a kind of “pop cult fanaticism“ which some see as an escape from the reality of the horrible trauma of WWII.

The density of the population, the drive to excel, scarcity all lead down very cratered paths! Congrad's on your win. Light & Love

Sorry, I got carried away-- what I also wanted to say was I enjoyed your dodoitsu-- I could so picture an anime girl and that flower popping out, those big eyes and big mouth-- very cool how you chose this topic-- got me smiling!

Your title caught my eye, and yes, I have heard of 'kawaii'-- now I am even saying it aloud in my head with that accent and a hand movement-- "Kawaii"! I think I fall for this a bit, not the anime ones, but those uber cute Japanese stuff-- gosh, cut me loose in a Japanese store, I may never leave, Haha. They have so many cute things. Thanks for the note below, I learned something new. I don't watch much anime, and only got hooked on one- Ranma 1/2 --details on that next time. Hugs to you sweetie

Are you into anime? I used to be a big comic book fan - but I think that was before the time that Japanese comics became big here. Interesting. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

In every culture the new generations seem to be developing their super heroes... quite a contrast between now and WWII. Very original and creative expression... :)
