In Shadows

He spent long dull days rigid like the straight back chair where he sat making his plans. He dreamed in shadows and his plans - like the old chair - never saw the light of day. an oldie for Line Gauthier's 'Bitesize Poem no.55' Poetry Contest

This is spectacular. I had a thought similar to this poem once. But it was me sitting in that chair! Strange isn't it? I am loving some of your old work. You are an amazing poet, you know that? This one really got under my skin. Always, Laura

WoW! This is a sad one. I see an old man sitting and dreaming in a chair in a room all alone. God Bless, JB

This poem offers a bleak picture. It is done well and takes the reader through an all too commong scenario. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

you paint a vivid but sad picture of this lonely dreamer, good luck in the contest...and you're not "dense" andrea, maybe I should've added a footnote, my poem is based on the stage play 'equus' by peter shaffer and a horrible animal cruelty case in the UK...

A lovely Choka, I haven't posted mine yet, written but not sure if ending is appropriate. Your ending says it all. Best to you in the contest but I'm sure it is a winner. Caryl
