Author's Notes: This poem, entitled: "I Shall Feel Your Touch Always" is an "Epiphora" style poem. "Epiphora" (aka: "Epistrophe") is known as the counterpart of the "Anaphora." Whereas the Anaphora style is noted for a repetition of the same word or words at the beginning of a series of phrases, lines, or sentences; the Epiphora, in contrast, consists of the repetition of a same word or phrase (or even a sentence) at the end of successive clauses, sentences, or lines, that is "verses." Following the Epiphora schema, I pursued the theme of my current poem here with the ending repetitive romantic refrain: "I Shall Feel Your Touch Always," which just happens to be the title of this poem too. I used the powerful, evocative repetition technique of this exclamatory sentence at the end of each verse in the poem to highlight the romantic words and message of each verse in the poem to the reader. I did this so the reader could see, sense, and feel the cumulative effect that each succeeding repetition had in amplifying the overall meaning of this poem. This particular poetic style has been used on occasion by famous past poets, to include Walt Whitman, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Robert Frost. As with the Anaphora style, the Epiphora's emphatic expressive magic comes from the veritable precision and repetition of the chosen repetitive refrain, which through a collective resonance and tonal syncopation enhances the overall power and meaning of the poem and its theme. In this case, that theme being a continued message hope, passion, trust, commitment, and togetherness between a couple who are in love. With all of that -- please enjoy this poem!!
