Hope

When I look through the curtain I see humanity's plight; Our lives seem so uncertain There’s little that is alright. Yet out of confusion I come groping To see a world dressed in bloom; With my heart created for hoping I find no comfort in gloom. We see from boundary to border That humanity wars with each race; With rebellion and irate disorder We exist in a shameful place. But I think as the sun is setting I could embrace peace without strife; For my mind needs a way of forgetting All except the beauty of life. I knew from childhood's beginning We live in a season of woe; With suffering, sadness and sinning For my conscience told me so. The truth of it all is so tragic I wept for all that was wrong; Then by the art of sweet magic My heart found a new song. The years keep coming and going A jumble of pleasure and pain; But the sadness I feel is showing That evil is on the gain. My heart should now be grieving For I find there is no comforting; But I always keep believing Life is a miraculous thing.

I would only say that you have made a brilliant sketch of the realities without forgetting the real beauty which lies in Hopes after hopes and in believing that "But I think as the sun is setting, ………… All except the beauty of life". This is beautiful beyond words my friend. Great Poem and great lovable expressions. I have started a new Poem series based on the original work of my late father. Hope you would take time to read it. Love and best wishes…Ravindra …Elizabeth Wesley.

another thinker that I missed. When you find that way of forgetting all except the beauty of life..... clue me in on it will ya? and then again... nah... guess I'll have to take it as it comes and muse on it, grow some and write. Great poem Lizzie. and I like what Daver said too. He is one cool poet.

And then tomorrow came. But did it bring pleasure or pain. The hope that the sun will be shining. Will help us to survive the rain.

Yes, it's a struggle - this fight against negative feeling. There is one plus however - for me - and that is that these minor chords often lead one to go within. Enjoyed. Love, daver

sometimes i wonder who the enemies are. do they care , can they see whats really going on. God left us with one single command and they can't follow it. or see it for that matter. even the economist are either blind or not telling the truth. and in my daily walk with Him i wonder suspiciously about how much he is doing? is He delaying or hastening? it is a mystery. john
