Gone a Soldier

Well thought out and written, Wilfredo. Joys and adversities of a year in this soldier's life. Touching, for the life of a soldier is not as a pawn on a chessboard. Gratitude goes out to all these souls, for they have chosen a selfless duty. Love how this piece is written...like a diary. The last two lines impact the others. Heartwrenchiing for the ones who will be without this soul. War and politics, in both we wish for the best. Both are a tough row to hoe. God bless you and yours..Mikki

Gosh Fred, this was powerful. Extremely upsetting, but point well made. Clever and creative use of the months of the year in your poem. Depressing in its truth. Well done. Love, Shar

I liked the way you laid out the poems by the months - I have a son in Iraq - I sure hope he comes home unharmed - blessings to you always
