Getting lost in music

Getting lost in music

Sometimes I just get lost in life
Just live without no thoughts
Forget about the regulations
And all the ifs, and aughts
And I get lost in music
Just making little songs
Sometimes I think that music
Is the space where I belong.

When I’m with my music
I have no cares at all
The whole of life is beautiful
And everything seems cool
No worries sneak into my mind
I do not give a damn
I forget those shadows from the past
I forget about Vietnam.

I stand there at my keyboard
And put those notes on down
As I try to make a symphony
A lovely wall of sound
And when I sing, I sing to God
And I celebrate my love
Oh yes that’s when I reach on out
To that power up above.

Nothing seems to matter then
With the music all there is
There are no pangs of heartache
I feel such holy bliss
Doing what I do the best
Slowly moving in
As angels up in heaven say
“Let the symphony begin”.

I enjoyed reading this poem about the healing powers of music. I do the same thing with my guitar when I'm feeling the omnipresent sadness. Thank for your comments. I don't know how to get over all the facts of my crazy life. Its an uphill battle though. :) peace
