For the Brethren

My Son, There will be times in your life, when you won't want to go on. You will want to turn back and no one will be able to tell you how to stand. Your wife will offer words, but they won't seem to help. And hands outstretched in charity, will mean nothing. My son, there will be times in your life, when you question God's justice, And no one will seem to have the proper answers. Many will judge you, many will tell you what to do, but few will tell you how to do it, My son, there will be times when you fight for men who forsake you, When you tell the truth yet they brand you a liar. My son, there will be times in your life, when it seems as a fire burns within you. And there is no one who understands or tries to. But there is a man, his name is Jesus. He knows how you feel, He had his hands nailed to a cross, And he will listen, Believe me, when no one else will hear you, Close your eyes, and ask for his hand, He'll help you to cry, He made the sky and stars, And he'll be your comfort. My son, I will not decieve you, It is no easy thing to be a man, But there is one who's gone before you, And every sore you feel he bore so you could stand, Every pain he suffered, he did, so you could feel his love, A love that loves while mouths spit salty curses at an open wound, A love that loves while accusations fly, And truth and lies attack from dark places, That's his love for you, Let no one decieve you my son, His mercy cannot die, His mercy will never fade, His mercy is forever as a river of sunlight, His mercy is forever a sweet caress when the world won't have you, His mercy is forever a conversation while sitting in a dark cell floor, There is no prison bar, nor sin, nor sordid past, There is no sickness, hunger, nor hatred beyond his touch. Let no one deceive you, A love as this, will never die, It will never leave you, As accusations fly, As mouths spit salt for life time sores, And words abound, but good counsel seems far away, My son there will be times in your life when you won't want to go on, You will curse man and question God's justice, But there is a man who'll keep you strong. His strength endures forever, His mercy endures forever, His love endures forever, And he'll never let you out of his hand, My son, men may fail you, Friends may fail you, Life may fail you, But there is a man, his love endures forever, And he will never let you go. His name is Jesus. And He Sits at the Right Hand of the Father, And he'll be your friend, when none want you. He'll be your brother when yours is dead and gone. My son there will be times in your life when you won't want to go on, But He won't let you quit, And if you hold on to the end, You'll look up into the most blinding and blessed light you've ever seen, There will be a man, seated in glory at the right hand of glory, smiling. And you'll remember this moment, When you didn't think you could make it, And you will know triumph.
