Fading Embers

She ran into the darkness of the woodland The silvery moon cast shadows on the pathway She appeared like a magical mirage Her long white dress floated creating a fairy like vision She twirled in the moonlight star dust glowing around her She lost her beloved He had fallen into the arms of another In her heart she felt no one could take his place Lost and confused she dashed for solitude and in the quietness of cold forest She recalls the heartbreaking words spoken The music, the thrill all the magic gone Lost never to make him her own Those magic moments gone She clutches the strings of her heart Words that hit deep in the soul The fire that once burned bright Now embers fading in the night. Fading dreams that did not last Time had run out to fast. 20/04/16
