Author's Notes: This is a "Tanka" or Japanese verse form write on the subject: "Eternal Soul." In this instance, I've considered the concept of the Soul as a spiritual entity that lives forever, with its eventual departure from our Earthly plane ('the mortal coil') and back to Heaven, as the philosophical undergirding for this write. And this write, I believe, succinctly captures the transformation from our Earthly plane to the spirit world and onto Heaven itself. The syllable count for this Tanka is: 5-7-5-7-7 (for a total of 31 syllables). (Gary Bateman - November 7, 2014) (Tanka poetic format)
