End of Time

They carved their names upon the tree So that forever they would be Under the sky near the waterfalls flow By the pond where the water lilies grow But dark skies came to surround She lifts her eyes heaven bound Trying to find a way towards his guiding light The flame that burned ever so bright For him she cried, far into the night dreams lost among those hills that night In sadness the tears invade the soul Damp eyes that continue to flow A place where the sun refuses to shine Lost in thought between space and time Now on her own again by the waters edge She remembers the words-- the pledge I am yours and you are mine Until the very end of time. 23/09/16
