Empty Garden
I walk down the streets but the sound has gone.
My footprints on the walkway past your window and beyond.
No more music echoing through the stone tree park.
Just a poet who walked and left his mark.
An empty garden with no more music played.
Just the sounds of tears and distant prayers today.
An empty garden with no more music played.
The window is quiet and the shades are down.
Only an older women with just a heart broken frown.
Lost half her soul on that December day.
Now we read how peace was their only say.
An empty garden with no more music played.
Just the sounds of tears and distant prayers today.
An empty garden with no more music played.
A circle of Imagine just across the street that says it all.
A lasting impression that still draws crowds every fall.
And now he watches from the clouds and fields.
His words carry on for all of us to feel.
An empty garden with no more music played.
Just the sounds of tears and distant prayers today
An empty garden with no more music played.
