Eclipsed
I see my brothers exchanging their sadness for accusation
I try to cry but my bitterness eclipses my tears
The love I feel is filtered through lenses of pathology
I am insane
And I keep trying to break out of the asylum
But the other inmates who are stronger and more functional
And yet more insane than me keep blocking the exits,
I am eclipsed by the madness of a generation.
On this Island of Dr. Moreau,
I fear, but through God I hope,
Eclipsed by an invisible love overcoming the madness of a generation,
Eclipsed by placid rest until I am ready to fight again.
Eclipsed like the fallen sun until sunrise.
