Drumming along

Come she told me, pa rum pum pum pum
My brand new dress to see, pa rum pum pum pum
For the office party, pa rum pum pum pum
Was bought with your money, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honour her, pa rum pum pum pum,
                I did come.

O my baby, pa rum pum pum pum
The way you look tonight, pa rum pum pum pum
I don’t know what to say, pa rum pum pum pum
You take my breath away, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

How did I pay for it, pa rum pum pum pum,
                On my income?

She just shrugged and said, pa rum pum pum pum
It’s only once a year, pa rum pum pum pum
I thought you loved me, dear, pa rum pum pum pum
Come let me hold you near, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum

Then I smiled at her, pa rum pum pum pum,
                Quite overcome.

Inspired by: John Heck's Crazy Christmas Carols!
To be sung to the tune of: Little Drummer Boy

LOL! What a wonderful parody! The ending is fantastic, but my favorite part is "How did I pay for it....on my income" husband wondered what I was laughing so hard about just now. Good luck in the contest, and thank you so much for your comments!
