Day One
Day one
The day that changed my life
Sent me on a different course
Became a life force
Informed my future direction
Helped me make better selections
No longer living in a place of correction
Before that day
I was never good enough
Life treated me rough
I believed
I was not made of good stuff
I longed to disappear
Better if I was never here
I had resided in a place of fear
Until that one day
One day
That day
A teacher
Believed in me
Let me know I was more
What life had in store
He reached down to my core
Like a parched desert
I drank it in
Let his words fill my heart
Permeating every part
How we finish more important than where we start
All it takes is one
One person
One day
New notes will play
Lives can change in that way
I am so thankful
For
Day one
