This goes for any type of bullying.....whether it's about weight issues, cultural issues, religious issues, gender issues, political issues....etc.

full bodied women tantalize senses like wine delightful to taste cushions of comfort everywhere soft to the touch more luxuriance curvaceous can charm sexy is as sexy does: get size wise, people! Eileen Manassian Footnote: This is a repost of a deleted poem. I am not justifying being unhealthy, that goes for the ultra thin and the ultra fat. I'm promoting acceptance. Perceptions of beauty change over time....I'm glad fuller women are getting more press coverage these days....women like Tess Holliday. I follow her on Instagram and am shocked by the amount of hurtful comments she gets. Let the woman be....

Well I must congratulate you on this wonderful POTD ( Pounds Of Total Desire ) Personally for me, a smile and compassion for others is what gets me, of course in a negligee, and we are all unique and different which is amazing! Now here is some food for thought (Pardon the pun) http://www.diet-blog.com/07/mauritania_where_fat_is_desirable.php

Thanks, Tim. Thank God there ARE men who like plus women! The previous time I posted it...I went a bit overboard with pics of big woman scantily clothed to make a point. Now I added comments....which I think is more appropriate. Thank you for your visit, Tim.

It is a matter of courage to let the people see who we really are. we must first accept ourselves and feel beautiful inside out, before others can see the beauty in us no matter how we look physically. We must stand for ourselves and stand strong coz no one else will. Feel beautiful. Thats Girl Power :)

Those ladies on the ramp that you see are supposed to be flat! literally no bust and no butts because they are practically 'walking hangers" to show the clothes they are wearing. They are to be invisible. They are not normal people! we are the normal people!we may not have the body, but do they have the face? cheer up! and be beautiful.

I have been struggling with self acceptance. I have my good days and my bad days. No matter how often someone tells me I'm beautiful, if I don't believe it....I will not be able to accept it. I understand your comment and I appreciate the time you took to read and post. Will be by to visit you soon. :)

Look at art! There was a time when larger women were the beauties. Plump curves meant wealthy family and high social class. How many nude paintings are there of thin women before this century? Not many. This is a product of the last few generations. Even in the 50's if you look at actresses measures, they would not be "fat" by today's standards. Of the famous 50's actresses 38 was the largest bust of hip size. Thank you Hollywood for body image issues world wide.

Thank you, Janet, for taking the time to read my poet. You have written a good reflective post here. I know that concepts of beauty change. Some of the models I see on the catwalk are simply emaciated. Media coverage glorifying these types of women, I believe, has lead to many psychology issues for women which results in eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia. It's so unfortunate. Health must not be compromised, but surely...there is a balance. I appreciate the visit and will be by to visit you soon. :)

Stone-age people's perspective of what the ideal woman should look like was not influenced by the media. To them it was natural that the ideal woman was the one with full curves. The statues found in our Maltese temples support this argument! I suppose slim women were not that popular then:) Congrats on POTD Eileen. Hugs // paul

Can I go back in time??? Or live in parts of Africa? My students told me I'd be considered beautiful there. ;) I get compliments, Paul. People tell me I wear my weight well, that it suits me. I miss the days when the younger generation considered me hot and sexy. ;) Even now....This young American guy was talking with a Brazilian girl (my student), and he told her that I'm his idea of a beautiful woman. Can you imagine that? And he's SO handsome! :) Anyway....beauty fades...I must accept that. Thanks for the visit dear. Hugs

I'm sure there is a lot of us with body weight issues, we need to be wise and supportive, I was always on the opposite side of the spectrum, teased for being too thin, unable to keep weight on, sickly skinny, society needs to accept people for who they are not by what they look like, thin or thick, we are all flesh and blood. Good message and grats on poem of the day.

Yes, Cas.....We should be supportive of "thick or thin" as you put it. It is so important to be accepting of our differences. I just get a big tired of fighting this....Thanks for understanding, sweetie. Hugs

Thanks, Edlynn. It is really hard in a culture that celebrates the ultra thin. There are some cultures who like the more voluptuous woman...maybe I should move! ;) I appreciate the visit and hope to pass by your way soon.

Yes, my sweet. You are so right. I try to remind myself of that. I live in culture where looks are everything. People get cosmetic surgeries done all the time here. Woman are big into taking care of their figures and looking hot and sexy. It's overwhelming at times. Thank you for your lovely compliment, Jan. I need it today. Hugs

here is a funny one for ya. In my younger days, on the streets of Madrid where the men call out to women different "terms of endearment" I was called Bonbon and one that really made me super happy: Marilyn Monroe (what a joke, but I will take it!!)

gosh, I don't even know who Tess Holiday is. Let me go google it. I am really out of the loop on news sometimes. I just went and saw her pics. I saw some other pictures there and some ladies my size being called larger women. Good grief. I am NORMAL when I look around at others my age. yet our size gets called large and that is how we are perceived (and end up feeling all our lives). It must be so much harder for the obese. to hear all the negativity.
