Cross Creek

Darling tonight I would like to take you with me
To a spot I know out in the country
I would like to take you there tonight
We will lay a blanket down and stare up at the Moon’s light

Everything will work out just fine
I got Tom Petty’s Greatest Hits and a cheap bottle of wine
It will be a night to remember
For a humid night in the middle of September

Plus we will take a swim in the water
I am just a country boy and you a farmer’s daughter
And tonight will not be a waste
If you come with me to this place

Darling please come with me
To my place out in the country
I have waited all week
Just to take you to Cross Creek
