Come My Super Soupers

COME MY SUPER “SOUPERS” Come, My super “soupers”, Raise your inspired pens And Gallantly fight, The world’s suffering to Alleviate, From its agony it to Liberate And Hope for a better future to Bring! Come, The turbulent oceans of misery And The rough seas of hunger, To pacify with your Compassion! Come, To remove the mountains of Enmity and hate that history has raised In your way, So Free to run into each-other’s arms! Come, To plant, the merciless desert of Indifference, With fruit-bearing trees of concern, For your afflicted brothers! Come, The abyss of divisions, Dug by wars and mistrust for thousands Of years, to fill With Your universal brotherhood! And finally Come, My fellow Super “Soupers” The whole world to embrace With The greatest force there is: LOVE, Thus it will not be mine or yours Anymore, but OURS! © Demetrios Trifiatis 07 March 2013

“Understanding it!” That is music to my ears my dear friend. Aristotle, one of my forefathers, said that " We should speak and write in the most simple way as to be understood" I have followed his advice! Thank you!

Lovely poem, with lovely ideals and sentiments...Sometimes those most in need of love and attention aren't "OUT THERE" but closer to home...right in our sphere of influence. This is a wonderful call to action.

Dear Eileen, what you say is absolutely true! As they say “Charity starts at home” but what happens if those close to home do not wish to be helped? Thank you for your kind and generous comments!
