Childhood
Childhood such a time
was it.
When youth was here
to stay, or so we thought.
Waiting so patiently
for adulthood to arrive.
Summers were spent
in carefree days of play.
Friends we held so
dear to our hearts,
were there for us
to lean on.
Life was so simple
summer time,
was our holiday
to spend as we wished.
Those gleeful times
now have vanished.
Adulthood has
arrived and we,
are dreaming
of those days,
long ago
when we were,
so young and
so free.
