Cherished

Perhaps when the last bough has sailed away And I stand here alone on twilight's plea, I will remember each and every day When gentle eyes kissed fears so tenderly. I cherished our seasons through pain or shine You opened love’s vessel to catch dawn’s tide , More than a father, a gift of lifetime Until night cuddled wisps of your last glide. A thankful song brings memories’ relief Defining not what life is all about, So sing with angels and take flight so brief And will my wings to climb without a doubt. This breath now calm on our hometown's lagoon A journey far where your face lights the moon. ............... Shadow Hamilton's Contest: In The Name of Love 5/16/13

Dear Nette, What a wonder tribute to your father, I understand it so well my dear, I believe the short time I had with the real man that I knew as my father was a treasure that I would never give up for any amount of fortunes, largest amount of silver or gold, for it's value means to much to me, this poem of yours brings these fragile moments of good times to flood back unto me, thanks for that, great piece of poetry here my dear friend thanks for it's treasured lines, cheri

Splendid writing, Nette. I like the way your father's face "lights the moon" and my favorite line is "You opened love’s vessel to catch dawn’s tide." A beautiful analogy. Congratulations on your win! Love, Carolyn

Embracing the horizons, holding hands with the winds. No focus on "dreams", but what is in front of them. Very deeply stated here.

Oh, I truly loved this tenderly written poem my friend! My favorite line has to be, "A thankful song brings memories' relief" where I can associate myself within that line! This is a wonderful Sonnet Nette, you have brought that good feeling within my gut after I had read this incredible poem! You have written a delicate and supremely loving piece! What an awesome poem, Great Work!!
