Perched high atop a secluded tor Lies the ancient Castle of Paramour A romantic location hidden from sight For a rendezvous at the dead of night Where two lovers meet for a secret tryst Their passions rise like the morning mist But no one must discover that they ever meet For both are married, so they must be discrete They are unaware there is a heavy price to pay Once over the threshold… forever they must stay Trapped in the castle for the rest of their life Their infidelity brings them eternal strife Perched high atop a secluded tor Lies the ancient Castle of Paramore Beware of the risk should you enter the door. Hi Jan, your words once more entrance the reader. Yes, once on the road of infidelity it is a trap forever caught in. I followed this one line by line, caught up in your wonderful tale. There are so many traps layed out in the garden of life. A strange castle indeed that does hold the unfaithful behind its walls. An excellent take on the theme Jan. I could see this one doing well in the contest. Good luck. This has to be a 7 and it is a fave. I just Love the flow of the piece. Hugs....Mike. XX

Thanks so much Mike - I think the poem is pretty dark and sad- so much pain is caused by infidelity and often there is no turning back and everything is lost:-( hugs jan xx
