Carry Grief As a Shield

Release relief, however brief- Let it come to crush my grief! I can't go on when Hope is gone; Biting Life with softened teeth Why ponder things that make no sense, Why take my Mind to clean and rinse; To wash away a long decay (And left with no defense) * "Grief" contest entry

Thank you again, Jon. These are all very old pieces that I happened upon while I was plundering the attic looking for an old VHS tape. I didn't even remember writing them. I'm happy you enjoy my work :)

If this is one of the older pieces you talked about, it shines just like the rest. Great from beginning to end. "Release relief, however brief, Let it come to crush my grief! " ALL fantastic lines

It is one of my lost children from ages ago. I think the first four lines are good, but the last four I think are a little weaker. I really should have reworked it some. Line 5 is somewhat trite sounding and brings down the quality, I think. But something compelled me to post "as is" lol ;)

A very clever use of words......I see greatness here.
