Bonne Queen

Once upon a kingdom called Emerald Hill,
Next to waterfalls enchanting spill.
Mother Nature, the bonne queen,
Crown of daisies and leafy green.

She pines in forlorn heartbreak,
Crickets immortalize her gloomy wake.
Solstice, her flamboyant king,
Promised return with spring.

Seasons past, months come and go,
She still awaits for Solstice to show.
Nature's nurturing smile wanes
Flora ailing with autumn's stains.

Spangled pox outbreak orange and red,
Flora, her subject’s take to their bed.
Winter born from nature’s heartbreak,
Gracing a chilled powder in her wake.

At last Solstice, her flamboyant king,
Audaciously rides, heralding spring.
Springtime tends to nature's neglect
Worshipping Flora bows in respect.

Solstice kisses his majesty's hand,
Reverently bowing to her royal command.
Mother Nature’s forsaken heart warms,
Her dormant kingdom magically transforms.
