Between the Lines of Poetry Soup

Between the lines of Poetry Soup Lies partly hidden the real scoop Poets with emotion’s overflow Spillage of which, they do not know Leaks between lines of what they write Discerning souls, bring them to light Fellow poets with this "disease" Wanting to love, wanting to please Can read between the lines so fair And see love affairs written there And secret longings all scream out Though unstated, there is no doubt Which poet is in love with whom And which affair will surely bloom Clear to read Love’s Richter scale The in between codes, never fail Poems present and poems past Love or friendship, now which will last? Terms of endearment, every one Is a love song that can't be sung Between the lines, you can’t deny Affairs of heart are flying high For we are poets one and all Programmed, it seems, in love to fall… With those whose words can so ignite Who touch our souls with sheer delight Chorus: Between the lines Between the lines The love is there Between the lines The long standing and hidden pain The hints of love that's gone insane Between the lines Between the lines YOUR love is there Between the lines. You have tackled this brilliantly, Eileen! I see that you read well between the lines. I am sure that many of us relate and feel touched by the works of others, and indirectly feel an attachment to them. (indirect loving, shall we say!) Friendships grow and flourish, and although distance does exist, it does not go to much lengths to hinder feelings. May soupers go on dreaming!! Hugs. // paul

Thanks for the read, Paul. Always good to have your insights. I know you said you are a teacher. Glad we share the same profession, but I sometimes think you might do well as a counselor or a psychologist. I mean this in earnest. Yes....things can get intense here, especially since we are all lured by words. I've written a write about this, giving my daughter advice to stay clear of those who are adept at using words. What is the solution? I've considered leaving this place, but....it fills a void, which I need to have filled at the moment. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs

There is always a SOUP-opera in between the lines here, it is fun to seek the truths hidden between the words. I loved this one lady, you are the master of the pen, the poetic goddess of love, lust and passion. :)

You pose an intriguing question, Leon. Some things are self evident...others one can only guess at. Poems are often encrypted messages of longing and need. Messages change, titles change, sometimes poems change, for not all can be revealed...thanks for this interesting question you've posed.

What a gorgeous write, I enjoyed this flight of fancy. The soup is like our own soap opera or should I say Soup Opera?

Flights of Fancy...yes, that is what it is. Reality and flights of fancy sometimes war together. Thank you for visiting. Yes, there is Soup Opera indeed! ;)

Even if this is a repost things haven't changed here...most poets are hopeless romantics....always looking for love....always trying to woo the princess...to most poets the fun is in the chase that is why the love doesn't last....beautiful just like the poetess...... Hugs Tim

Nope...Yes, we are a very dangerous lot, Tim. I've written a poem...can't remember the title.....Beware of Poets, perhaps...I don't know. Anyway...in it I give my daughter advice to be care of the man who is good at using words. Perhaps she isn't moved by words as I am, but it is a real danger! Words melt me....right down! Sad...that is why distance is maintained...the chase...once ended...brings pain. Thanks for that last bit.. ;) Hugs

This is a repost of an old write, Jan. I'm unable to write at the moment, so thought I'd pull out an old one....Some have not been commented on, even. Some have very few comments. Thought I'd try a repost. Thanks for the visit. Hugs
