Autumn Delight

The autumn breeze danced among the multi colored trees It smiled mischievously as it whirled and twirled endlessly tirelessly with strong forceful gusts It tugged at the vibrant colored leaves The leaves clutched the branches not wanting to fall They were no match for the brisk breeze With a soft sigh they descend to autumn's call.

Amazing imagery, Phyllis. Through your pen, I can see the leaves being pulled from the trees, only to whirl "endlessly" in the wind. I absolutely love the way you ended the poem with the "soft sigh" as leaves "descend to autumn's call." You must be seeing some signs of autumn now. A tropical storm formed right over the part of Florida where I live yesterday and I was watching its gusts tear limbs from trees. Great to read your work! Love, Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn so nice to see you here. Hope the storm missed you. yes fall is lovely and days are getting colder. Birds still have not headed south so that is a positive sign for a longer fall. love phyl
