Autum Day

Autum has come to the land, Only barren trees will stand. Red, brown, russet and gold Colors so beautiful, bright and bold. Leaves gently drop off the tree, One by one gathering around my knee. They drop silently making no sound, Gathering on the ground all around. The colors of autum now all gone, For summer days we will long. Winter is about to drop her coat, The land will become desolate and remote.

Congratulations Phyllis, on your feature this week. It is beautiful. I love this leaf poem. (I just read another beautiful leaf poem in Laura Mckenzie's poetry book. I responded strangely, though to both poems with a nostalgic-longingish but pleasant feeling.) Beautiful work. Smiles, Dane Ann
