Armadillo

Roly poly armour plated, Clumsy gaited beast. Looking for a juicy worm, A creepy, crawly feast. Sleeping mostly through the day, And prowling at night, Seeming quiet, docile, shy, He can put up a fight. Not a trouble maker. It's just his lot in life. He does his best not to be seen, He's tryng to survive. Judy Ball

Well, I got a kick out of this one, I'm not like James - I don't like armadillos, in fact after desposing of two of them, another is feasting on my lawn now...good write, bad animal....I'm gonna "choot'em"...

I understand your chagrin at having them tear up your landscape my friend. But I just couldn't kill them. But then I like porcupines and skunks too. Think I'll post a few of my other animal poems for you my friend. :) Hope you take the time to read them. God Bless, JB

Wow, great description of them! I can easily visualize them because I've seen a lot of them. I lived in Texas for many years and you can find them on the side of the road, run over and dead. But they sure to have an armor on them. They are cute however and smart! I loved your write...and you are correct with your imagery!

I haven't seen many but have seen a few. Lotsof people don't like them and kill them on purpose but I do like them. I'm a Nature lover and believe they all have a purpose. God doesn't make anything without a purpose. We need them all, even snakes, snails and bugs. Thanks bunches my friend. Glad you like it. God Bless, JB

Be very careful trying to catch those little guys. They are strong and those claws can rip you up. They can put up a fight if they have to but mostly will roll up in a ball and try to hide behind their armour if they can. Some people run over them with their car or shoot them just because. It's sad. God Bless, JB

OH They're very cute but those little claws can really tear you up.You must look up a picture of them. They mean no harm but can really destroy your yard. You have to trp them and relocate them them but some people find it easier to just kill them. Mean. God Bless, JB

YeahPhyl, I always thought they we cute too but found out something about them this morn. Someone said he found one in his yard and shot it and I said he should have trapped it instead. He said he tried but it tore up the trap. He also said they carry leprosy. WoW! I still feel sorry for them. God Bless and thanks for stopping by. JB
