Aphrodite

Gorgeous, eternally young Alluring she emerges Rising from the foaming waves In dazzling beauty. The forged magical girdle She wears ‘round her naked waist Attracts with enticing charms The power of love. ----------------------------------------- Contest: Dodoitsu Sponsor: Dr. Ram Mehta

"Eternally young" - a quality that "mutton dressed as lamb" women don't cut. Well done for your description of Aphrodite. Hugs, Julia

Nothing wrong with wishing to be eternally young...but we know that it's not possible! But looking good is possible and satisfying....not to the extent of resorting to all kinds of beauty ops:) Hugs // paul

very vivid imagery to this one. It kept my attention as I could imagine see her ccome on short using her charms to woo the helpless man back to her

To be exact, Snowball was a male cat, as white as snow; in the end it would have been cruel to prolong his then miserable life. My ban on animals has now gone haywire...all of a sudden my son started bringing in birds! We reached a compromise...he puts them in the shed!

You have succeeded sculpturing her body having your pen a chisel, dear Paul! A masterpiece accomplished, a seven for that! In case any of your readers doesn't know! Aphrodite is a compound word from Afros=foam and the verb diome=rise or come out of the foam of the sea.

Hi Demi! Finally managing to answer to some comments; it's been frustrating with no soup mail coming through. As you can see, I used foam and rising since they're both derived from the goddess's name. Greek mythology has long been in my heart. All the best. // paul

A beautiful, sensual entry for the doditsu contest, Paul! It reminds of a poem a boy wrote for me when I was 16. He compared me to Aphrodite...LOL. See, it still gives me a good laugh! Hugs, Rhonda

Somewhat different from chocolate brownies, David! A goddess of beauty and love she is, and her charms are felt by many. Glad you read and enjoyed my friend. // paul

Yes, Eileen; I've mentioned her before; as goddess who radiates love to others she has to be given due attention. She might be 'eternal', but it's up to us to keep her flame burning. hugs and a happy Valentine's day. // paul

Hi Andrea! am playing around trying to answer comments by trial and error; not getting any soup mail has disrupted me no end! Aphrodite is a favourite of mine (....and prefer the name to the Roman Venus!) Happy Valentine's Day:) // paul
