Ancient Astronauts From Mars?

Is that a sphinx we see on Mars Resembling the one in Egypt Just how were the pyramids built And pharaohs placed in lavish crypts When Mars’ oceans began to dry Did species seek preservation Did ancient astronauts arrive To colonize a new nation To date, the complex construction Of Egypt’s tombs sparks speculation Are Martians in man’s family tree Hanging limbs, green blood relations * For the "Sphinx Head on Mars?" contest

Interesting thoughts, Diane. As a student of archeology I have to scratch my head at times at some of the things that have been uncovered here on our planet, wondering how they got there. Great write and congrats on your win in the contest. Dan C

I enjoyed the read today, Diane! Mars still has many hidden suprises. There must have been water once on Mars. I wonder what the first austronauts will tell when they return from there. Thank you for commenting my poem "When I am dreaming". Best of success in Carolyn's contest!...Gert
