American Idol

Hearing talented young voices provides such pleasure In our quest for America’s latest idol treasure Next year the judging panel will not be the same The man we love to hate will leave for bigger game What will it be like without the infamous scowl Of the Brit who tells it like it is -- Simon Cowell “That was simply dreadful,” says he with a wry smirk “You came off karaoke; it just didn’t work.” Randy asks, "Yo, Dog, what's with the off-key pitches?" Ellen’s there for laughs; she leaves us in stitches Kara strokes her long, brown hair, bats her lashes too Asks Casey to remove his shirt, flirts as he follows through But Simon never offers consolation prizes Contestants' egos crash down as their anger rises If he tells Big Mike he sounds karaoke We may find Simon adrift in the Okefenokee Choosing a replacement will surely not be easy Adam Lambert? Paula's return? Oh, it makes us queasy Simon will be missed, the show will suffer ratings Viewers may depart for loss of the man they’re hating

I had to refer back to your Famous American Idol Poem after tonight...I miss SIMON! Even though I don't have time to comment on each poem you contribute to the Soup, I do read most if not all. Even the Oldies...the Classics of yesteryear...Well, I mean...LAST year. Hee Hee! ~JSLambert - PS,,,I wrote a poem about an Orange today...though it is a little known fact...Orange CAN be rhymed, "The Orange got smashed in the 4 inch, Door-henge, so they picked it up and threw it in the Pour-age."-

I had to think of Paul Potts the winner in England and that lady from Scotland who also won...These competitions are a good chance! I think you could also hear "The Modern Jazz Quartet" on youtube in the US, we here in Germany can. I only missed "A Morning in Paris" and "Sunrise" but I've got this on records...Have a great week...Love, Gert

Congratulations on your well-deserved win, Carolyn. Your poem is a sure reminder of the thrills of acceptance and the tears of rejection of this very famous song contest. Bask in your glory. I would like to take the opportunity to thank for choosing my poem in your last contest. I am so thrilled for this first win! I have entered your new contest. By the way, it's a lovely photo! Have a wonderful day and smile. Love and admiration, Andrew.

lol.i love listening to the auditions. always a blast, right? Simon is good, he only tells the truth, but sometimes it is a bit harsh. most of the time he is honest though. it wouldn't be the same without him. awesome couplet. -Always&Forever Lynette

I think it will not be the same unless they find someone else we love to hate. I do enjoy watching the new talent on the show. It is an opportunity that they may never have had to show their abilities. Have a great day. God Bless Phyl

Kool piece to a koolio show. I have caught glimpses of it in Scotland. I believe the American show to have far better singers than the UK >> James

We here in Germany got DSDS (Germany looks for the "Super Star" or "Deutschland sucht den Superstar"). I think the German one was adapted from the American one...Nicely written Couplet, Carolyn! Yes, the Rhine Valley is nice in autumn , but even the Mousella region or even better the Bergstrasse area between Frankfurt/Main and Heidelberg is gfamous for its wines...Thank you for your comments...Love, Gert
