Alway Here

Sometimes I live in distant past
Where memories don’t seem to last
I call your name from out of sleep
Too tired to laugh too late to weep
You’re always near
Always near
Always here
I rang the bell and did my time
I rambled round the uphill climb
Remember when I called your name?
I can’t recall my present shame
You’re always near
Always near
Always here
I drove past your grave a million times
Someday I’ll stop and sing my rhymes
I long to touch your golden hair
Someday we’ll walk the heavens stairs
You’re always near
Always near
 Always here
At night I cry myself to sleep
I pray to God your soul to keep
I ramble on in dark of night
For I have lost my guiding light
You’re always near always near always here

beautiful poem, well written. In such a windy and snowy day, reading this piece just completes my relaxation. What a poem!
