All I Want For Christmas Is a Miracle
All I Want for Christmas is a Miracle
it was late one night
december twenty-third
when a little boys wish
was overheard
she walked by his door
to hear the prayer
as he asked god
why life wasn't fair
she heard him say
Iv'e been so good
and asked if santa
somehow could
make mom healthy
for christmas this year
and those words kept echoing
through her ear
she cried herself
to sleep that night
knowing her cancer
was winning the fight
the doctors had told her
her chances were slim
of finding the marrow
to help her win
but she kept her hopes up
if only to hide
the pain the suffering
and the turmoil inside
if there was a santa
she knew he'd come through
if only a little boys
wish would come true
when christmas arrived
on the eve of the day
he stood by her bed
and asked her to say
i truly believe
in good old saint nick
she whispered the words
then fell asleep sick
that morning he awoke
to a knock at the door
santa was late
but it was him he was sure
he opened the door
and took a quick glance
it wasnt a sleigh
but a shiny red ambulance
it wasn't the fat
jolly man in a sled
but a man dressed in white
with a cross that was red
the doctor had come
with news that was great
they'd found her a match
if it wasn't to late
they loaded her up
with the boy by her side
rushed to the hospital
and took her inside
by the time it was over
christmas had passed
but the miracle stayed
she was getting better at last
she looked from her bed
at his worried young brow
she said that he saved her
but she didn't know how
he looked back up at her
then smiled and said
it wasn't me
it's all in your head
miracles are born
from believing inside
and when you truely believe
with your heart open wide
santa can give you
what you want most of all
for the spirit of christmas
is not found at the mall
